Join my Shirt Fitting workshop and learn to fit a shirt pattern! The Sure-Fit Designs™ Uni-sex Shirt Kit offers you the flexibility of sewing women’s unconstructed, undarted, loose and comfortable shirt/blouses, yet it will be fit to your specific dimensions. Whether you have sloping and short shoulders, square and wide shoulders or large upper arms, you will sew a shirt style blouse, knowing it will fit.
The Shirt pattern offers a measurement range from 28" to 56” in chest/bust circumference. Simply mark in the measurement dot that represents your specific circumference – connect the dots – the result will reflect your specific body shape.
You’re likely wondering about the differences between the Shirt and Dress patterns. (Click here to see a comparison chart). We use the Dress kit patterns in the Dress/Bodice fitting class. The Dress kit pattern has bust fitting darts, so unlike the Shirt patterns without darts, you’ll get a custom-fitted and shaped bodice. Each pattern kit has their place in your wardrobe. It all depends on the finished garment design and what your clothing needs are.
And, in addition to making women’s shirt-style blouses, if you’re into sewing shirts that custom fit the man in your life, the Shirt Kit offers you this option.
This Shirt fitting class is offered over 3 days for a total of 18 hours. $259.95
Day #1 (10 AM to 4 PM) – measurements – drawing the pattern – begin to sew your shirt test.
Day #2 (10 AM to 4 PM) – designing with the pattern – and continue/finish sewing.
Day #3 (10 AM to 4 PM) – drawing the Boatneck T-Shirt pattern - cutting and sewing the pattern – final Q&A.

- SFD Designing Stylus – the Key to the System
- 1 roll tracing vellum – 10 yd. 24” wide
- Boatneck T-Shirt designing instructions
***If you already own the SFD Shirt Kit/Stylus/Vellum - your class fee will be adjusted. Please contact me.
You will need to bring:
- Test 'muslin'
- Knit fabric for boatnect T-Shirt
- General sewing supplies - thread etc.

In my class, six very differently shaped women all developed a workable pants pattern with a very nice fit.
